Adoption Fee & What it Covers.

The Greek cats adoption fee is 100€ for a kitten and 90€ if you adopt a pair or more. For adult female cats is 150€ and male cats is 140€ . There is also a fee reduction if you adopt a cat over 10 years old or with a special need.
All the above fees cover:

  • Fully vaccinated-which includes two FVRCP vaccinations and rabies
  • Treated for fleas
  • Dewormed
  • Microchipped
  • Neutered
  • Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukenia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
  • Passport

If you adopt a kitten and the vaccine series is not yet complete at the time of adoption, it will be the adopter's responsibility to complete the series (as kittens vaccines are given 3-4 weeks apart until the age of 16 weeks). Once you have adopted a new pet into your family, all veterinary expenses are your responsibility for the rest of your pet's life.

Adoption Process

We have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Greek cats in order to hep us ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible and committed homes. We also have the right to turn down potential adopters whenever we believe as necessary.

First of all, you have to complete our Cat Adoption Form Questionnaire. Secondly a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is required as part of our adoption process. Last but not least, all adopters should be in touch within reasonable basis with our organisation members to send feedback of our cats or kittens.

Return Policy

If for any reason you wish or need to return a cat that you have adopted from us, you get a 50% refund of the adoption fee if you do so within a week. After that (months or years later) we require that you must return the cat or kitten to Greek cats without being able to refund you the adoption fee but we will find him/her a new home. This occurs because we do not ever want our cats to end up on the streets or at a city shelter ever again!

Commitment

Adopting an animal is a serious commitment but also an incredibly rewarding one! Animals are for life! When you adopt a cat or kitten from Greek cats, you are making a commitment to provide medical treatment, care and love for the rest of the animal's life which can be up to 20 years. We are always here to answer questions, guide or advice you and help you solve problems.

If you are unable for any reason to make such a long term commitment, then you can consider volunteering at Greek cats and becoming a foster parent or donate - sponsor for any of our animals. We would be very happy to have you and it is a great way to make the difference in an animal's life!
